Creative Producer Sought

zack mennell is seeking a professional Creative Producer with demonstrable experience of supporting neurodivergent artists in the fields of Live and visual arts, as the role involves both producing work and access support. The successful candidate will be someone who is kind, organised, and adept at planning, networking and application writing.

Hours:        2 days per week
Contract Length:    43 Weeks (ideally 5th June 2023 to 31st March 2024)
Contract Type:    Freelance
Pay:            £175 per day, £15,050 for the period

Some flexibility is imagined in the role, and the work will be a mix of in-person and remote, though the ideal candidate will be able to commit to working in person in South East London on a weekly basis.

The ambition is to extend the contract, subject to continued Access to Work funding. The Creative Producer is not required to manage the Access to Work relationship.

Key ambitions for the next 10 months are to:
  • build creative development, residency, funding and exhibition partnerships for zack’s ongoing (para)site project
  • make a successful application to ACE for funding to support a period of creation, development and exhibition
  • secure several smaller scale performance and exhibition opportunities
  • professionalise zack’s online presence, including the redevelopment of their website and the creation of a social media plan, to better display their photographic portfolio, build visibility for all aspects of their practice and secure future work

The Producer will support zack by:
  • offering strategic guidance, supporting zack to develop a plan for professional and creative development which centres their wellbeing and access
  • working with zack to develop a personalised access rider which can be shared with collaborators and partners
  • identifying appropriate programming and support partnerships and managing approaches, connections and negotiations
  • identifying appropriate open calls and funding opportunities, and developing these applications, including an application to ACE for an under 30K NLPG (for which we would seek further funds to support additional writing work)
  • providing administrative support, managing the majority of email communications with partners and collaborators, attending meetings, and supporting invoicing and project budget management
  • undertaking travel to attend projects, residencies and meetings in London and the wider UK
  • completing end-of-project evaluation and reporting activities
